The Itasca-Mantrap Operation Round Up Trust awarded $34,400 to 58 civic projects on Nov. 9.

Operation Round Up, a charitable program unique to electric co-ops, is designed to provide financial assistance to non-profit or community-based organizations that demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the Itasca-Mantrap service area. The primary source of funding for the trust is from Itasca-Mantrap members who voluntarily round up their electric bills.

Grant applications totaled more than $102,000 for community projects, but because of limited funding, all requests could not be granted.
