FARGO - A Fargo woman is in the hospital after being rescued from the storage shed where she's been trapped for what appears to be the past two days.

A Fargo police Sgt. Kevin Pallas said police were called at about 7:30 a.m. Friday to a report of a woman trapped inside one of the storage units at Bison Storage in the 4100 block of 14th Avenue North. Somehow, over the heavy semi truck traffic and warehouse noise, a worker had managed to hear her cries for help, Pallas said.

The woman, 59, had been living in the storage shed and had become unable to manipulate the door and lock mechanism on it, becoming trapped since possibly as early as Wednesday, Pallas said.

"We were real fortunate one of the workers heard her calling for help," said Pallas.

Pallas said it's a relative rarity, but police sometimes do discover people living in storage sheds when they're between apartments, or following an eviction.

The woman was hospitalized for what appears to be mild hypothermia, said Pallas.
