A 75-year-old woman is dead and her husband critically injured as the result of a car accident Friday afternoon in Hubbard County.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. Friday, the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Hubbard County Roads 9 and 45 in Farden Township.

Upon arrival at the scene, responders learned a 1991 conventional dump truck pulling a gravel conveyer driven by Chancey Vogt, 20, of Bemidji, was southbound on CSAH 45 and traveled through a stop sign and into the intersection with CSAH 9, according to sheriff Gary Mills.

A second vehicle, a 1998 Dodge Caravan, driven by Allan Sexton, 70, of Champlin, was eastbound on CSAH 9 and collided with the rear wheels of the truck, causing the van to spin around with damage to multiple areas, the sheriff's office reported. The truck proceeded to roll onto its roof just south of the intersection.

Drivers Vogt and Sexton were transported to North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji. Sexton was first airlifted to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo and later airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center due to the severity of injuries received in the crash. Tuesday morning he was reported to be in critical condition.

The accident remains under investigation by the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
