White Earth woman sentenced for selling cocaine

Ashlea Joy Bevins, 27, of Box 233, White Earth has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony third-degree controlled substance crime, sale.

A felony charge of second-degree controlled substance crime, sale, was dropped in a plea agreement.

According to court records:

On March 31, she sold just under a half-gram of crack cocaine in three clear zip-top baggies for $150 to a confidential reliable informant working for the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force.

Again on May 8 she sold six plastic bindles of crack cocaine (a total of 1.3 grams) for $300 to the same informant.

On Thursday, she appeared before District Judge Lisa Borgen, who stayed imposition of sentence for 20 years and placed her on supervised probation for 20 years.

She was ordered to serve 10 days in jail and serve 30 days on electronic home monitoring at her own expense. She received credit for time served, to go towards the EHM.

She was fined $500 plus court fees and was ordered to pay $150 restitution to the drug task force. She must successfully complete drug court and commit to one primary care physician. She must submit to random urine analysis and drug and alcohol testing.
