The 2010 White Earth Tribal primary election will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Candidates are seeking election for the following positions:
District II representative: Incumbent Terrence "Terry" Tibbetts Sr., Patrick Scott Sr., Kenneth M. Colman Jr., Rena Henry Vizenor, Darrell "Boone" Wadena and Charlotte "Char" Lee.
Secretary-treasurer: Robert J. Durant, Michael "Stink" Bevins, Henry G. Fox, Diana King, Teresa St. Clair, Eugene "Bugger" McArthur, Marvin "Moss" Tibbetts, Tara Mason and Barb Fabre.
Incumbent Franklin "Bud" Heisler did not file for re-election.

District I representative candidates Steven "Punky" Clark and incumbent Irene "Rene" Auginaush will not seek election in the primary, they will go straight to the general election to be held in June 8.
The polls will be open at the following locations:
For District I: The new Rice Lake Community Center, George Anywaush's residence in Pine Bend, Lenore Moran's residence for the Beaulieu community and at the Bijou Community Center.
District II: The old community center in Naytahwaush, the Tribal Community Library in Mahnomen and the Waubun Community Center.
District III: The new White Earth Community Center, Elbow Lake Community Center, Callaway Community Center, Ogema VFW and the old Pine Point school.
Off-reservation voting will be at the Cass Lake Facility Center and the Minneapolis American Indian Center.
The tribal election office will also take absentee voters at the RV Park located behind the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen.
The two candidates with the most votes in each race will advance to the general election set for June 8.

A candidate that receives more than 50 percent of the vote in the primary wins the election outright.
Community members can track the results throughout the evening at the Golden Eagle Bingo Hall in Mahnomen.
