How have your allergies been these days? I know many people continue to talk about how bad their allergies are this season.

Of course, we had an early spring and the above normal temperatures during March, April, and May had everything blooming much earlier than normal. The tree and grass pollen have been a "thorn" in the side for many of us and have been the main problems for many allergy suffers.

However, the above normal precipitation during the month of May, when we had about three times as much rainfall as normal, has caused mold problems as well. For those who are allergic to mold, this has caused problems for you.

Speaking of rainfall, strong showers and thunderstorms pushed across the area on Thursday. One to two inches of rainfall fell in many locations across central and southern Minnesota. Park Rapids received nearly .50" of rainfall. Hail and strong winds accompanied these thunderstorms on Thursday mainly to the south of Park Rapids. Winds in excess of 60 mph were noted across portions of central and west central Minnesota.

We got a break from the showers on Friday as high pressure returned. It was brief as another round of showers and thunderstorms pushed across the state late Friday night into Saturday. Some of these were on the strong side. The main concern was again for large hail and strong winds.

Things should clear out just in time, however, for Father's Day. Temperatures will be warm over the weekend with highs in the 80s both days.
