According to the National Weather Service, snowfall totals were "highly variable" as a winter storm blustered through the area Monday. Wind gusts were as high as 32 miles per hour. Four to six inches of snowfall were predicted. Brief, heavy snow produced rates of 1 inch per hour in the heaviest bands from Park Rapids to Grand Forks. As of Tuesday 1 p.m., Park Rapids had received between 12 to 18 inches.
