A Walker man was sentenced for his part in breaking into a Hackensack liquor store in June.
Curtis Eugene Hoffman III, 22, was convicted Sept. 29 in Cass County District Court of felony third-degree burglary. Hoffman has been sentenced to 90 days local confinement in the Cass County Jail, of which 57 days is stayed for five years. Hoffman has been credited with 33 days served.
A warrant was issued for Hoffman's arrest after failing to appear at a hearing Aug. 18. The warrant was quashed a month later.
Hoffman's accomplice in the crime, Jeffrey Allen Goose, 28, was convicted of felony third-degree burglary Aug. 4. Goose was sentenced to a year and one day in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, which has been stayed for five years. Goose must serve 60 days local confinement in the Cass County Jail. He was credited with 33 days time served.
According to court documents, Hoffman and Goose were captured on video breaking into the Hackensack Municipal Off-Sale Liquor Store and stealing bottles of Captain Morgan. Both men pleaded guilty in June. Hoffman and Goose are on five years supervised probation and each must pay a $50 fine.
