A Walker man will make his next court appearance Dec. 31 on nine charges arising from a rollover that injured him and four passengers.

Grant James Gustafson, 25, is charged with eight counts of Criminal Vehicular Homicide or Operation in the Dec. 14 crash on Hubbard County 45 at 1:45 a.m. All five occupants were pinned in the car, the criminal complaint states.

A portable breath test at 3:30 a.m. showed an alcohol concentration of .105 percent, the complaint indicated. All five of the vehicle occupants were taken by ambulance to Sanford Health in Bemidji with neck and back injuries.

Two of the charges carry a maximum of five years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine. Six charges are punishable by a maximum of three years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine.

The ninth charge, a DWI, is punishable by a maximum of 90 days and/or a $1,000 fine upon conviction.
