The victim of a fatal one-vehicle crash has been identified as Amelia Wise, 35, of Longville.
Wise had ties to the Akeley area, said Hubbard County Sheriff Frank Homer.
The 1999 Pontiac Grand Am she was driving left a curve between Crooked Lake and East Crooked Lake sometime early Wednesday morning and plunged into Crooked Lake. It is locally referred to as "Middle Crooked Lake."
The vehicle was discovered partially submerged by a passerby shortly before 6 a.m.
Homer said the accident on County 2 in Hubbard County is under investigation as to its cause, and whether it was alcohol-related.

The body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine the manner of death.
