Two passengers were injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday in Hubbard County.
According to a press release from the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, an accident with injuries was reported at 5:29 p.m. on County 18 in Lake Emma Township.
Responding deputies and medical personnel found that Mark Buchanan, 48, of Brandon, S.D. was driving west on County 18 in a 2020 GMC truck when he drove off the road and struck an approach. The vehicle was airborne for 77 feet before landing and coming to a stop.
An 8-year-old passenger in the vehicle complained of neck pain, and a 50-year-old passenger received an arm injury as a result of the crash. Both patients were transported by ambulance to CHI St. Joseph’s Health.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
