A mother and daughter were injured in an ATV crash reported about 3:21 p.m. Sunday, July 12 on County Road 23 in Wadena County.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Stephanie DeLaPena, 21, and her mother, Tammi DeLaPena, 50, were riding an ATV when the Stephanie lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree.
Both women reported that they had looked behind them for a dog when the crash occurred. Neither person was wearing a helmet and both sustained serious injuries from the crash. Stephanie and Tammi were both taken to Tri-County Health Care in Wadena.
Wadena County Sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by Verndale Fire and Rescue and Tri-County Ambulance.
