A man and woman were transported to the Bemidji hospital Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle accident south of Bemidji.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 71 and Hubbard County 9 in the northeast section of Hubbard County shortly after noon.
James Oman of Duluth happened to be outside Fugate's Country Store at that intersection when the crash occurred.
"I didn't really see anything," he said, adding, "the green car went right through the stop sign.
"I wasn't really looking but I heard the boom and saw her spinning around toward me."

The State Patrol said Catherine Karsten, 52, of Laporte, was driving a Toyota Highlander northbound on Highway 71 when an eastbound Oldsmobile Royale, driven by 38-year-old David Magee of Waubun, went through the intersection into the highway, where he was broadsided by Karsten.
"He was trapped in the car," Oman said of the Magee. "He was still breathing but barely."
Karsten was treated and released for her injuries. The State Patrol said Magee is listed in critical condition at North County Region Hospital.
The Patrol was assisted by Hubbard and Beltrami County deputies at the scene. Both vehicles ended up in Fugates on the northeast corner of the intersection.
The accident is under investigation but was believed to have been alcohol-related.
