It was a tough Sunday for juvenile crime in Park Rapids.

Late afternoon, five juveniles were spotted near the new Red Bridge site, damaging landscaping and throwing rocks into the Fish Hook River.

The river is especially shallow after construction to place the new bridge in place, and boaters have been warned either to avoid the site or take precautions under the new Rust Bridge.

The Downtown Business Association discussed the problem last week.

Then three juveniles were spotted trying to cut off branches on one of the trees on Third and Main Avenue around dinnertime Sunday.

Chief Terry Eilers was on vacation so it was unclear if any of the juveniles was apprehended.
