Checks written to customers from the Treasure Hunters Roadshow in payment for their gold and silver have been returned due to failure to pay.
A spokeswoman for the company said that the company has covered all of the checks, plus the bounced check fees, for customers who have reported the problem,
"That is something we have dealt with in Bemidji," she said.
Bemidji Police Chief Gerald Johnson said the Police Department had received complaints, but that the company has covered the bounced checks.
The Police Department is not investigating, he said.

The problem appeared to be a bookkeeping error, Johnson said.
Customers who experienced payment problems are asked to call the Roadshow at 217-636-7900.
"Direct them to our office and we will take care of it," the spokesperson said.
Other cities have reported similar problems recently. According to WZZM 13 news in Grand Rapids, Mich., the company bounced checks after its visit to Muskegon, Mich., in September.
The Globe Gazette out of Mason City, Iowa, reported that the checks written to customers in Mason City in October also bounced.
In both incidents, the company covered the checks and the corresponding bank fees.
