According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), crews have completed all storm sewer on Hwy. 71 for Phase 1 and 2 in Park Rapids. Crews are working on pouring curb and gutter on the frontage roads and grading the highway.

MnDOT is currently reconstructing the intersection of Highway 71 and Hubbard County Road 15, as well as completing pedestrian accessibility improvements on Highway 71, from Hubbard County Road 15 to Eighth Street.

Weekly public meetings are Thursdays at 9 a.m. during construction. The meetings will be held at the Hubbard County Highway Department, located at 101 Crocus Hill St. in Park Rapids.

During the final phase of the project, crews will complete the construction of the roundabout at the intersection of County Roads 15 and 53.

Gladen Construction, Inc. of Laporte is the contractor for the $4.3 million project. It is expected to be completed in October, weather permitting. Visit the website for additional details and detour maps at mndot.gov/d2/projects/2019/hwy71-parkrapids/index.html.
