Township candidates must file by Jan. 14

Several townships in the area have officer elections in March 2020. Anyone interested in serving should contact their town clerk for filing instructions.

Filing for candidacy opens Tuesday, Dec. 31 and runs through Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020 for local township officials being elected at the annual town meetings on March 10, 2020.

There is a $2 filing fee, payable at the time of filing.

Hubbard County races

  • Crow Wing Lake Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Brian Ford (252-8323) by appointment and until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.

  • Fern Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Kim Watkins (209-6884) by appointment and until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.

  • Hart Lake Township: One supervisor, three-year term; one supervisor, two-year term to fill a vacancy; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Charlotte Rauch (224-3217) by appointment and until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.

  • Lake Hattie Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Chris Parthun (854-7272) by appointment and until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.

  • Straight River Township: One supervisor, three-year term; treasurer, two-year term. File with town clerk Kari Weston (732-2662) on business days and until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.

Becker County races

  • Carsonville Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Helen Drewes at 22119 480th Ave. Call 255-1227 for an appointment.

  • Green Valley Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Sarah Maninga (701-446-6941) by appointment, or until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.

  • Osage Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Margo Boyd (255-4774) by appointment, or from 1 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 14 at the Osage Community Center.

  • Pine Point Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Gertrude Maninga (573-3825) by appointment, or until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.

  • Savannah Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Barbara Busch (713-857-2258) by appointment, or until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.

  • Two Inlets Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Adeline Retz at her residence (732-3941) from 1 to 5 p.m. on business days.

  • Wolf Lake Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Lori Aho (538-6754) or at the town board meeting at 7 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the Wolf Lake Lions Club.

Wadena County races

  • Blueberry Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. Contact Jayne Pickar (255-1497) for filing instructions.

  • Huntersville Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Judy Salonek (564-5974) by appointment, or from 1 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.

  • Shell River Township: One supervisor, three-year term; clerk, two-year term. File with town clerk Bonita Newhouse at her residence (564-5046) by appointment, or until 5 p.m. on Jan. 14.
