Nevis took control from the start in all three games en route to a 25-14, 25-18, 25-15 volleyball victory over Laporte Tuesday night at the Tiger Arena.
In Game 1, a tip by Cassie Edwards, a spike and kill by Jaci Heath, a block by Maggie Lindow and a kill by Anne Rittgers gave Nevis a 5-2 lead. Three spikes by Gretta Hjelseth, another tip by Edwards, kills by Lindow and Heath and four service points by Rittgers extended the lead to 16-8. Edwards then served four points, including an ace, for a 20-8 advantage. Lindow had a pair of spikes and Heath had a winning tip during that stretch. An ace serve by Erin Walters helped close out the game.
Two spikes by Lindow, four service points by Walters (including an ace), a tip by Rittgers, kills by Heath and Megan Stam-baugh and an ace serve by Heath gave Nevis a 13-8 advantage in Game 2. After a kill by Hjelseth, Heath followed with two kills and a spike as the Tigers held a 19-11 edge. A kill by Hjelseth and an ace serve by Heath helped close out that game.
Nevis jumped out to a 12-0 lead in Game 3 behind the serving of Stambaugh. Lindow had two tips and a kill, Heath had a block and Edwards had a spike during Stambaugh's 11 straight service points. Spikes by Lindow and Rittgers, a block by Heath and Hjelseth, a kill by Rittgers and a block by Hjelseth and Kjera Gustafson kept Nevis in front 18-8. Rittgers served three points with Edwards contributing a spike and Hjelseth pounding down a kill. Micah Richards' winning tip helped close out the match as the Tigers improved to 12-5 on the season.
Tigers sweep Pillager

The Tigers used 18 ace serves and 31 kills to defeat Pillager 25-22, 25-15, 25-20 on Monday.
Lindow served six aces, Edwards served five aces, Hjelseth had 15 kills and Heath had nine kills to lead the Tigers. Edwards had 22 set assists, Walters had eight digs and Rittgers had four solo blocks in that win.

Tigers defeat Blackduck
Edwards' seven ace serves and 27 kills by Heath and Hjelseth sparked the Tigers to a 25-10, 24-26, 25-12, 25-10 win over Blackduck on Sept. 28.
Heath had 14 kills and nine digs while Hjelseth had 13 kills, eight digs and three solo blocks for Nevis. Stambaugh served five aces and had 10 digs, Edwards had 31 set assists, Rittgers had seven kills and Edwards had eight digs for the Tigers.
