The Wadena County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a female party who stated she was in a boat that capsized on Stocking Lake, at approximately 11:38 p.m. Oct. 12.
The caller said one of the other occupants was still missing somewhere in the water. Law enforcement and medical personnel arrived and located the caller, identified as Susan Anderson, 50, of Excelsior, Minn. Anderson was with another occupant of the boat: Steve Turner, 51, of Grand Forks, ND. Both were very cold from being in the water.
The third occupant was located about 150 yards from shore in chest-deep water. He was eventually rescued and identified as Donald Campbell, 48, of Shorewood, Minn.
Anderson and Turner were medically cleared on scene, while Campbell was transported to CHI St. Joseph's Health for further treatment.
The Wadena County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Menahga Fire Department, Menahga First Responders and Tri-County Ambulance.
