Three people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash Thursday in Hubbard County.

According to a Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) incident report, the crash happened at approximately 1:56 p.m. at the intersection of State Hwy. 34 and County 33, just west of Nevis.

Responding agencies included the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, North Memorial Ambulance, the Nevis Fire Department and the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Officers directed one-lane traffic around the scene while the crash was investigated and cleaned up.

The MSP report says the accident occurred when a 2017 Toyota RAV4, westbound on County 33, collided with a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado that was eastbound on Hwy. 34. Airbags deployed in both vehicles.

Cody Michael Timmons, 28, of Hackensack was driving the Silverado. The report says his injuries were non-life threatening, and he was not hospitalized. Debra Jean Rateike, 68, of Hackensack, a passenger in the Silverado, was transported to CHI St. Joseph’s Health with non-life threatening injuries.

Driving the RAV4 was Brandi Rachelle Wattenhofer, 34, of Backus. With injuries also described as non-life threatening, she was not hospitalized.

The MSP report says all three occupants were wearing seat belts; road conditions were dry; and alcohol was not involved.
