A 31-year-old Cass Lake man was shot Thursday afternoon in the city's Tract 34 area, the Cass County Sheriff's Office said.
The victim, who wasn't identified by authorities, was taken by air ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
One suspect was in custody Thursday night, said a statement from the Sheriff's Office. No other details were released.
Eight different law enforcement agencies were assisting in the investigation.
