Super Bowl DWIs down dramatically in Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety on Monday said that law enforcement officers across the state arrested fewer people for DWI on Super Bowl Sunday than past years.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety on Monday said that law enforcement officers across the state arrested fewer people for DWI on Super Bowl Sunday than past years.

Across Minnesota law enforcement officers made 65 DWI arrests Sunday - that's down from an average of 190 between 2010-2014.

From late Friday to early Monday officers arrested 365 drivers for DWI statewide, state officials said.

Hennepin County topped the weekend arrest list with 87. While Virginia had the driver with the highest blood alcohol level. A man arrested driving in Virginia had a blood alcohol content of 0.33, more than three times the legal limit.
