A 55-year-old Prior Lake man was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Brandon shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday.

Bruce Alan Monson was driving a Chevrolet Avalanche south of Brandon on County Road 7 when he struck a northbound motorhome driven by Gale Eldon Jacobson, 71 of Fostoria, Iowa, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Monson was pronounced dead at the scene. Jacobson wasn't hurt but a passenger in the motorhome, Kathleen Dianne Shatto, 64, was transported to the Douglas County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Assisting at the scene were sheriff's deputies, Brandon Fire Department, Garfield Fire Department, Minnesota State Patrol and North Ambulance.

The accident remains under investigation.
