BEMIDJI - A suspect has been arrested in a stabbing incident Thursday night in Grant Valley Township. At about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a resident in the 1200 block of Averi Circle saying a male suspected had just stabbed a homeowner and fled the scene, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
A manhunt ensued and the office issued a CodeRED alert Thursday evening with a description of the man and warning area residents about the incident. The suspect was taken into custody as of 6:19 a.m., the sheriff's office said and the CodeRED alert was canceled. The homeowner did not suffer life-threatening injuries but did require medical attention.
