Some March elections remain

A majority of townships in Hubbard and eastern Becker counties have decided their elections will coincide with the General Election in November, but 10 will have elections in March.

A majority of townships in Hubbard and eastern Becker counties have decided their elections will coincide with the General Election in November, but 10 will have elections in March.

Residents in these townships have until Tuesday, Jan. 15 to file for office.

The annual township elections will be held March 11.

Terms are supervisor for three years; clerk for two years unless stated otherwise.

Crow Wing: Residents will be electing one supervisor and a clerk. Supervisor John Naylor's term is expiring as is clerk Gerald Forsberg's.

Fern: Supervisor Dale Malterud and clerk Pam Stull's terms are expiring.

Hart Lake: Terms expiring are those of supervisor Don Bowles and clerk Charlotte Rauch.

Helga: Residents will be electing two supervisors and a clerk. Supervisors whose terms are expiring are Sheldon Olson and Mark Donat. Clerk Bobbie Donat's term also is up.

Three members of the Planning & Zoning Board also will be elected. The three-year terms of Mark Lawyer and Russ Hansen end in 2008. Richard Schmidt is filling out an unexpired term and this position will be on the ballot to be filled for a one-year term.

Lake Hattie: The terms of supervisor Arthur Milner and clerk Elizabeth Parthun are up.

Straight River: Residents will be electing a supervisor and treasurer. Incumbents are Howard Warmbold, supervisor, and Cindy Becker, treasurer.

Todd: Supervisor James Schauer and clerk Mildred Lovin's terms are expiring.

In eastern Becker County:

Carsonville: The terms of supervisor Mike Branstrom and clerk Helen Drewes are expiring. Both have filed for re-election.

Osage: Residents will be electing one supervisor and a clerk. The terms of supervisor Rick Nason and clerk Margo Boyd are ending.

Two Inlets: Supervisor Roxanne Eischens and clerk Adeline Retz are up for election.
