Some Hubbard County roads reopen; volunteers wanted

Two Hubbard County roads closed by running waters Monday have been reopened.

County Road 102 in Farden Township is now open and County Road 94 in Lakeport Township has been drained and is open to traffic.

County Roads 44 and 94 remain closed. Stay tuned to this Web site for updated road information.

Tuesday afternoon County Road 114 west of Park Rapids was closed, as was County Road 36 at 460th Avenue in Guthrie Township.

Volunteers interested in assisting with flood-fighting efforts in the Red River Valley can contact the First Link volunteer hotline for information on helping in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Call (701) 476-4000, or visit their website at www.myfirstlink.org and click on "Flood Information". Volunteers can also report to the volunteer coordination center in Nemzek Hall on the campus of Minnesota State University Moorhead, located on 17th Street and 6th Avenue, Moorhead, Minnesota.

A volunteer registration form is available online or at the Hubbard County Emergency Management office and must be completed and signed. Volunteers must wear appropriate clothing, to include sturdy footwear, work gloves and appropriate rain gear.

Donations of goods are not requested at this time, however donors interested in making monetary donations are encouraged to donate to the disaster relief charitable organization of their choice.
