Social Services renovation bids come to $625,000

Bids for the Hubbard County's expansion above the jail were opened Wednesday, totaling $625,896.

One Park Rapids, two Detroit Lakes bidders and two Bemidji companies were successful among the 14 bid packages let.

Lee Davis Electric. Inc, of Park Rapids, won the electrical bid of $112,500.

Dow Acoustics, Inc., of Detroit Lakes, won the bid for acoustical treatments for $24,500; I'll Tile & Stone of Detroit Lakes won the bid for tile at $14,915 and Young & Davis Dry-wall, Inc., of Bemidj won the bid for gypsum board, for $68,600.

A pre-construction meeting likely will take place Aug. 1. Work is ex-pected to be completed by yearend.

The project construction cost is just under $1 million.
