Melissa Smedstad and Chad Schachtschneider, both of St. Cloud, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
Parents of the couple are Todd and Teresa Smedstad of Fergus Falls and Pam Niemi of Osage and the late Steven Schachtschneider.
The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and currently studying via the University of Phoenix. She is employed by the Minnesota Army National Guard.
Her fiancé attended Park Rapids Area High School and graduated from Fergus Falls High School. He is employed by DPMS Firearms, St. Cloud
The wedding is planned for 6 p.m. Sept. 19 at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
