    One important program for county seniors is the Lutheran Social Service (LSS)Nutrition Program. Persons 60 years of age or older and their spouses are eligible for noon group meals served at congregate meal sites. They are asked to call the site the day before they plan to participate. (A call to Diners Club sites isnt necessary.) Home-delivered meals are available for those who are homebound and unable to prepare their own meals. Donations of $2.50-$3.50 are suggested.     Nevis Senior Citizens Center: Serving at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Congregate meals only. Call 652-2022. 

    Park Rapids Great Northern Caf: serving congregate meals only. Call 732-9565. 

    Park Rapids River Heights Apartments: Serving at noon Monday through Friday. Home deliveries available from this location. Call the dining manager between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at 237-2798.     

    Park Rapids Woodland Court Apartments: Serving at noon Monday through Friday. Home deliveries available from this location. Call the dining manager between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at 255-1240.

 

Living at Home/Interfaith Caregivers

    The Park Rapids Living at Home/Block Nurse/Interfaith Caregivers Program is a community program that enlists volunteers and other resources to enable seniors to remain living in the home of their choice as long as safely possible. The program offers assistance to seniors in southern Hubbard and eastern Becker counties, including the communities of Park Rapids, Nevis, Akeley,Two Inlets and Osage.
