Sandra L. Hummel, 65, of Minneapolis, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008.
She was born Dec. 27, 1942 to Horace and Elsie (Antoine) Hummel in Park Rapids. She attended country school near her home through the eighth grade. She went on to graduate from Park Rapids High School with the class of 1960. She attended Bemidji State University for one year.
She moved to Minneapolis where she was employed at Bell Telephone Co. for 22 years. She worked for the University of Minnesota as manager of the Deans Office at the College of the Institute of Technology. She retired in 2000 after 35 years.
Surviving are her siblings, Barbara (Lyle) Nordquist, William (Opal), Harriet Schmitz, Mary Lou (Ray) Schmitz, Robert (Judy) and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation: One hour prior to service at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids.
Funeral: 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids with Rev. Ken Nyhousmoen officiating.
Casket bearers: Russ Walsh and Robert and Dale Schmitz.
Interment: Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or NC Little Hospice.
