Ruth Marian McAllister, 95, of Lake George died Monday, June 26, 2006 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
She was born Nov. 6, 1910 to Rufus Nelson and Margaret Jane (Hutchinson) Marlow in Scott Township, Stevens County. She attended school in Chokio through the 10 grade. When her parents moved to Huntersville, she and her sister moved to Backus to finish school. She graduated in 1929.
She married Joe McAllister in 1931 in Morris. They lived in Backus until 1942, when they moved to Hendrickson Township near Lake George. She later moved to Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids. For 20 years she was an assessor for two townships. She took the census three times and was an administrator for three estates.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Akeley.
She is survived by five children, Daniel (Corrine) of Bemidji, Jean (Lee) Thomas of Longville, Marian (Robert) Mechelke of Akeley, Pete (Ginny) and Walter (Jeanette), both of Lake George; sister, Margie Libra of Taylor, MI; 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, hus-band in 1977 and 11 siblings.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today (Saturday) at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday, July 2 at First Lutheran Church in Akeley with Rev. Ken Nyhusmoen officiating. Ken Hager will be the organist and Pastor Phil Larson will sing "Borning Cry" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand." Congregational hymns will be "Just A Closer Walk With Thee," "Amazing Grace" and "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder."
