Robert "Bob" Erick Movold, 82, of Rice, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at St. Cloud Veteran's Administration Medical Center.
He was born on Sept. 16, 1926 in Fosston to Clifford and Ruby (Erickson) Movold. He grew up and attended school in International Falls. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII and also served in the Korean Conflict.
He returned to Minnesota and worked in the family business, Alexandria Boat Works, where he worked in sales. In 2001, he retired from the St. Cloud Sewing Center.
He was a Mason and a life member of the Minnesota American Legion and the VFW, specifically Akeley VFW Post 8508 and Akeley and Backus American Legions. In 1967, he established VFW Post 7902 in Osakis and was also past commander.
He is survived by his wife, Shari, of Rice; nine children: Penny Movold, of Alexandria, Roxanne (Walter) Tischer, of Alexandria, Tammy (Robert) Kluver, of Alexandria, Jeff Movold, of Fargo, N.D., Gayle Movold, of Menlo Park, Calif., Mary Jo Verbos, of Milton, Wash., Vicki (Kurt) Mortenson, of LaQuinta, Calif., Michelle (Michael) Weisen, of Rice and Angela Levandowski, of Richmond; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Moudre; brothers Mark and John "Jack"; and nephew, Erik.
Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday), Dec. 17 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service.
Interment: Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
