Richard "Dick" Arthur Joern, 86, of Park Rapids, died Thursday, Oct, 23, 2008 at home in Park Rapids.
He was born Dec. 27, 1921 in New Ulm to William F. and Mary (Pagel) Joern. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electronic Technician until 1946.
He worked as an electrical engineer for the civil service for many years in Colorado Springs, Colo. He lived in Park Rapids for the last 25 years.
He was a Mason and member of Shell Lodge 184 in Park Rapids. He received his 45 year pin.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Dimple Joern of Lawton, Okla.; a nephew; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
