A man who reportedly had a baseball bat and a gun as he was breaking out windows of a north Fargo home was arrested this morning on suspicion of terrorizing and attempted burglary.

Police responded at about 4:30 a.m. to 712 4th Ave. N.

When officers arrived, a man later identified as Ryan Sannes, 33, of Breckenridge, Minn., was detained outside of the rental house, Sgt. Bill Ahlfeldt said.

An aluminum baseball bat and .40-caliber pistol were found in the yard, and a knife was found in the bushes next to one of the broken windows, he said.

Police believe all three items belong to Sannes and that he used the bat to break the windows, Ahlfeldt said. The pistol had ammunition in its magazine but did not have a round loaded in the chamber, he said.

Two men and a woman were home at the time of the incident. Police believe Sannes knew the woman and wanted to talk to her, Ahlfeldt said.

No one was injured.

Sannes did not resist arrest. He was taken to the Cass County Jail, and the case remains under investigation.
