Business partners Jeff Christlieb and Michelle Schave attended a property auction and saw an opportunity they couldn't pass up.
They purchased the property formerly known as Doc's Truck Stop and Cindy Q's and after completely remodeling the building, Christlieb and Schave opened it as the Osage Convenience and Service two months ago.
Located on Highway 34, Osage Convenience and Service offers snacks, hot and cold beverages, auto supplies, lottery tickets and an ATM as well as full-service auto repair. They also have an RV dumping station and do auto detailing.
Osage Convenience and Service is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. With five full-time employees, three in the shop and two in the store, customers can have their car's oil changed on the spot, purchase new or used tires, or call to make an appointment for car repairs such as brakes or shocks.
"Shop prices are reasonable," Schave said. Future plans include a used car lot, which they already have a start on, with one car out front for sale, and a car wash.

With 2.6 acres of land, Christlieb and Schave just opened five RV sites on their property. During the potato harvest there are few places to park an RV," Christlieb said. Schave describes the RV area as a "nice, wooded and shady."
Christlieb says the low gas price at the Osage Convenience and Service draws customers.
Christlieb and Schave said they invested a lot of time, effort and financial resources into remodeling the property to make it a clean and inviting place for customers.
Christlieb is from Osage where his father owned the grocery store for 30 years. He runs his father's grocery store as well as a construction company and trucking company in addition to his new business with Schave.
Schave lives in Little Falls and splits her time between the new business in Osage and her other job as accountant for the Brainerd Chamber of Commerce.
