Early Thursday morning, a stabbing occurred in Ponsford, sending one man to the hospital with two knife wounds.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office and the White Earth Police Department responded to a domestic call at about 1:51 a.m. Thursday morning in rural Ponsford, about 25 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes.

Police found a 28-year-old Ponsford man who had sustained two serious knife wounds, one to the abdomen and one to the chest area. He was transported to St. Mary's Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes and underwent surgery.

The suspect of the stabbing, George Robert Taylor, 22, who lives with the victim, was taken into custody shortly after 9 the same morning. He had left the scene prior to the officers arriving and was arrested at a relative's house without incident. He is being held in the Becker County Jail pending charges.

According to Sheriff Tim Gordon in a press release, the incident is under investigation and there are no further details being released at this time, including the victim's name.
