A 23-year-old Ponsford man was arrested after stealing a Becker County squad car, abandoning it in Osage, then stealing a minivan northwest of Osage Saturday.
Dyllon James Glatzmaier was arrested on an outstanding warrant just after 6 p.m. Saturday on Witter Avenue near Osage.
While the deputy took inventory of Glatzmaier’s car, the suspect, in handcuffs in the back seat of the patrol car, managed to get the handcuffs in front of him and climb through an opening in the squad car and took the wheel, driving a mile to Osage.
This is the second such incident to have occurred in Becker County.
A man managed to steal a squad car near Two Inlets this spring, but was later arrested.

According to the Becker County Sheriff’s Department, Glatzmaier fled on foot and an extensive manhunt followed.
At 10 p.m Saturday, a report of a stolen Oldsmobile minivan was received northwest of Osage. The vehicle fled when officers spotted it, traveling 18 miles at speeds of 90-100 mph.
The vehicle was disabled by stop strips at the intersection of Becker County roads 58 and 44.
Glatzmaier was able to drive another mile before the pursuit ended.
Numerous agencies responded, including the State Patrol, Hubbard County, Park Rapids police, Cass County’s K-9 unit, White Earth Tribal Police, Detroit Lakes Police, Frazee Police, Callaway/Ogema Police and Wolf Lake Rescue.
Glatzmaier was booked into the Becker County jail on a litany of charges.
