A 22-year-old Pennock man pleaded guilty Thursday to possessing a weapon as a person convicted of a violent crime and a misdemeanor driving while impaired charge.
As part of a plea agreement, three additional driving while impaired charges, plus another misdemeanor charge for transporting an uncased and loaded firearm against Jacob Allen Leuze will be dismissed. He will be sentenced Sept. 9.
Leuze was charged with driving while impaired twice on April 21. The first set of charges were filed after a Kandiyohi County Sheriff's deputy was called to assist a Department of Natural Resources conservation officer. The DNR officer, while checking fishing licenses, came upon a possible drunken driver at the Lake Calhoun boat access. The deputy found that Leuze exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. He failed field sobriety tests, registered a 0.10 blood-alcohol level on a breath test and was arrested and taken to the Law Enforcement Center.
The conservation officer found a loaded firearm in the vehicle. According to the court file, Leuze is an adjudicated delinquent for third-degree burglary in October 2003 and therefore not allowed to posses a firearm.
The second set of charges was filed after a deputy was on patrol near the intersection of County Road 25 and Long Lake Road, came upon a vehicle with expired license tabs and stopped the vehicle.

The driver, Leuze, exhibited signs of alcohol consumption and failed field sobriety tests. He registered a 0.12 blood-alcohol level on a breath test and was again arrested and taken to the Law Enforcement Center.
