The cast of the one-act play, "Poor Little Lambs," has been rehearsing for performances this week and competition Saturday.
Students playing members of the Monroe family are Michelle Shefland, Amber Gran, Jacob Froelich, Nathan Gebhard, Kelli Schweigart and Joseph Schweitzer.
Juliann Kjenaas directs the comedy with Jonathan Harrison in charge of the technical crew. Sam Gibson is stage manager; Darien Nyland-Aragon assisting. Students in charge of lighting, sound and music are Kate Larson, Megan Larson, Luke Swenson, Jason Dennis and Tony Schmidt. Members of the tech crew are Matt Newberg, Emily Schwartz, Dan Hahn, Jenna Shepersky and Regina Relsner.
A final open dress rehearsal will be given at 7 p.m. Thursday and the cast will be performing for Sno-Daze Friday.
Saturday, the Area High School Drama Department is hosting the sub-section contest, beginning at 9 a.m. in the auditorium.

The public is welcome to watch as seven schools - Park Rapids, Laporte, Menahga, Nevis, Pequot Lakes, Sebeka and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley - perform seven different one-act plays.
Awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The first and second place winners will go on to section contest in Battle Lake.
There is an entrance fee for the sub-section contest: $6 for adults, $4 for students.
