A public school information technologist reported to jail Tuesday for twice violating a protection order against a former live-in girlfriend.
Judge Robert Tiffany warned Jeffrey Keith Hunt, 52, that his conduct "has been a complicated and tangled web.
"You need to respect orders for protection," Tiffany continued. "Hopefully that does not become an issue in the future."
Hunt, the IT manager for Park Rapids schools, agreed.
The charges were initially misdemeanors, but were enhanced to gross misdemeanors by a 2001 domestic assault conviction Hunt had in Hennepin County.

He and his former girlfriend had a turbulent relationship that resulted in the protection order being filed when she moved out of the couple's Hubbard County home, according to the complaint.
Tiffany sentenced him on two counts of Violation of a Protection Order, giving him 10 days in jail with credit for four days served, fines, fees and two years of supervised probation.
Hunt signed a plea petition in early May that dismissed several other charges.
He is prohibited from contacting the woman or interacting with her children other than in a professional capacity during school hours, Tiffany warned.
Hunt admitted he called the woman Aug. 1, 2011, "to reach out to her for resolution on another matter."
The second violation entailed him being in a church parking lot at a time when the order barred him from being there.
Tiffany also ordered Hunt to get a chemical dependency assessment and a mental health assessment.
