Even though the calendar says it's spring, Hubbard County is in a winter storm warning for the next three days and expecting up to a foot of new snow.
"This is a big, slow-moving system," said National Weather Service meteorologist Tom Grafenauer.
"For Park Rapids, you're looking at 7 to 14 inches of snow over the next two, two-and-a-half days. The heaviest snow will start later today and fall through Tuesday, then taper off a bit."
It's expected to snow through Wednesday, he added.
"This is really a prolonged storm."
