The Century PTA was organized in 2001, and has been active in the school district for the past 12 years. The organization welcomes and encourages all parents/guardians and staff members in our school to learn more about the PTA and become an active participant.
The general membership meetings occur on the second Monday of every other month in the Century Elementary faculty workroom. The next meeting will take place on Monday, Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. Free childcare is always available during the meetings.
To ensure the viability of the organization and the continued funding for field trips, student/family events, book fairs, the allocation of school supplies, etc., the PTA needs you! The PTA organizes, works, and supports many school, student, and family activities throughout the school year. These activities require many volunteers, chairpersons, and organizers.
Many of the PTA members/PTA Board members’ students have moved on to the high school or have graduated leaving many vacancies to be filled. Without the involvement of individuals, programming and events will have to be reevaluated to determine the feasibility. Each member can choose their level of involvement, whether it be a few hours a month or a few hours each week.
The Century PTA has three main goals:
n To promote parent and community involvement.
n To provide parent education.
n To develop a unified effort to help secure the highest advantages for all children.
The PTA organizes and funds many family and student events throughout the school year, provides field trip funding for students, organizes and hosts book fairs, allocates school supplies to teachers and students in need, and so much more!
The PTA is supported by one sole fundraiser. The PTA Fundraiser began on Sept. 10 and ran until Sept. 24. Students can still turn in orders through the end of this week to their school office. Without the support of the fundraiser the PTA would not be able to allocate the monies necessary for field trips, family activities, etc. The staff and students of Century School thank the community for their generous support over the past many years.
The PTA is always appreciative of the donation of school supplies to the PTA Supply Closet. Our closet is looking a bit empty and it would be great to start the school year with a full closet filled with pencils, highlighters, glue sticks, sharpie pens, folders, 3-ring binders, facial tissues, colored pencils, crayons, markers, erasers, etc. Monetary donations will also be accepted in lieu of a school supply! Thank you for your support!
We hope to see many new faces this school year! You can inquire about the PTA by calling 237-6350 or
