The Park Rapids Police Department confirmed the BP station at Main and Highway 34 was robbed at gunpoint on Friday night. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash and no injuries were reported during the incident, according to Police Chief Terry Eilers. The incident occurred at 7:55 p.m. and no arrests have been made yet in connection with the crime. Eilers reported the suspect was wearing a mask and carrying a large-caliber handgun at the time of the robbery. Eilers is asking residents to be on the lookout for the cash tray. Anyone who finds an abandoned register tray should not touch it, but call the police department at 237-2711. The incident is under investigation with the police department working on several leads and Eilers emphasized Monday the public is not at risk.
