As a fitting tribute to Frank Schapp's last meeting, members of the Park Rapids School Board wore pink.
Schapp had been on the school board for 11 ½ years, he said, and will miss being a part of it. He liked to wear pink so the other members of the board decided to dress in that color for Monday night's meeting.
The meeting was rescheduled from the week before because of the snow storm. It was a fairly quick agenda.
The board approved the levy limitation and certification 2008 payable 2009 in the amount of $4,598,979.05 and approved the 2008-09 revised budget.
The board also approved maternity leave from March 16, 2009 through June 2009 for kindergarten teacher Sally Heier.

Besides those few action items, the rest of the meeting was fairly light hearted.
Schapp was honored for his years of service on the board with cake, cookies and a plaque.
Student Kyja Penning was honored for her participation in state swimming and diving. Amy Westberg was honored as Section 8A swimming and diving coach of the year.
Megan Lawrence was named the December student of the month.
Each of the principals mentioned that students had been busy and said it's been great to see.
The next school board meeting is Monday, Jan. 5.
