Park Rapids Area High School choir director LouAnn Dierkhising expressed congratulations to vocalists on the ratings they received at the Minnesota State High School League section ensemble contest held Feb. 25 in Park Rapids.
Fourteen ensembles performed and all received a superior rating - the highest.
All 67 students who participated will receive a superior medal for the superior ensemble in which they sang.
On several occasions, adjudicators commented positively on the students' vocal technique, as well as musicianship.
Best of Site groups awarded were two female ensembles performing "Rhodora" and "What a Wonderful World.

Ensemble performers included Ashley Christianson, Hannah Delahunt, Abby Hanson, Mary Kading, Megan Lawrence, Hailey Lundin, Leah Meinert, Alexa Zunich, Cassandra Bethel, Cady Clinton, Maria Goetz, Melissa Haas, Megan Harsha, Dena Johanning, Nicole Knott, Chelsey Sanquist, Shannon Taylor, Leeza Tostenson and Hannah Wolff.
Two duets also received Best of Site, Giacomo Sicliani and Colin Vaadeland with "I'm Bound Away," and Maria Goetz and Giacomo with "Panis Angelicus."
Several groups also received a perfect 40/40 rating including the duet performing "I'm Bound Away," the women's ensemble for both "Rhodora" and "What a Wonderful World" and the sophomore mixed ensemble with "Take These Wings."
