Panthers shut out Warroad; Nevis, UNC fall

Koeller capped a seven-play, 43-yard drive with a 1-yard TD run to give the Panthers a 6-0 lead with 9:23 to play in the first half.

A 46-yard run by Koeller to the Warroad 4-yard line set up a 3-yard TD run by Koeller as Park Rapids led 12-0 with 11:34 to play.

Park Rapids' defense, which forced Warroad to punt on its first five possessions in the first half, sealed the win as Derek Ricke intercepted a pass at the Park Rapids 2 in the third quarter and Dylan Walsh intercepted a pass at the Park Rapids 34 in the fourth quarter.

Both teams entered this game at 1-0 and ranked among the top 20 teams in the first state Class AAA poll.

In other area games, Isle built a 28-0 lead at the half in a 42-8 win at Nevis Friday afternoon while Royalton built a 22-0 lead at the half and held on for a 22-16 win over United North Central at Sebeka Friday night.
