Scoring two touchdowns inside the 2-yard line on fourth down and keeping the opponent from scoring inside the 1-yard line on fourth down sparked the Park Rapids football team to an 18-8 victory over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the season opener Friday night at Vern Weekley Field.

Dylan Walsh's 27-yard TD catch from Grant Dierkhising gave the Panthers a 6-0 lead with 3:05 to play in the first quarter before D-G-F took an 8-6 lead on Riley Nelson's 10-yard reception with 10:35 remaining in the first half.

Park Rapids' defense stopped the Rebels inside the 1-yard line late in the first half and then used two second-half scoring drives to pull off the win.

Anthony Koeller capped a 59-yard drive with a 2-yard TD run on fourth-and-1 at the 6:59 mark of the third quarter to give Park Rapids a 12-8 advantage.

Kevin Vaadeland sealed the win by capping a 38-yard drive with a 1-yard TD plunge on fourth-and-goal with 4:26 remaining in the game.
