Panthers extend win streak in conference

A sweep in doubles helped the Park Rapids girls tennis team defeat Perham 6-2 Tuesday for the Pan-thers' fourth consecutive victory against a Mid-State Conference opponent.

A sweep in doubles helped the Park Rapids girls tennis team defeat Perham 6-2 Tuesday for the Pan-thers' fourth consecutive victory against a Mid-State Conference opponent.

Mindy Lawrence and Mary Kading, Alyssa Kling-enberg and Alyssa Carlson, and Dena Johanning and Rachel Thelen won in doubles to lead the Panthers.

Megan Lawrence and Holly Roepke prevailed in singles to seal the win as Nicole Brandt's team improved to 4-1 against conference opponents. The Panthers are 6-4 overall.

The Panthers, who had last Thursday's Mid-State Conference match at Staples rained out, will host the Mid-State Conference tournament today (Saturday) and will host Pequot Lakes in another Mid-State match Tuesday afternoon.
