The Park Rapids boys tennis team ended the regular season with a 5-5 record in dual meets after dropping three matches to Section 8A opponents last week.
East Grand Forks defeated the Panthers 5-2 in the first match of a triangular meet at Crookston last Tuesday while Crookston posted a 7-0 victory over Park Rapids in the second match. EGF defeated Crook-ston 5-2 in the other match.
In the regular-season finale Friday at the Depot Courts, Thief River Falls coasted to a 7-0 win.
Ryan Kent was victorious in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 3 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Ben Waller and Joe Penning won a third-set tiebreaker to account for the Panthers' two points against EGF.
In the loss to Crookston, Mark Smith lost a third-set tiebreaker at No. 1 singles and Kyle Dickinson lost in a tiebreaker in the second set at No. 4 singles.

Thief River Falls won all seven matches in straight sets.
Park Rapids hosted the first round of the Section 8A team tournament Tuesday with No. 4 Park Rapids playing No. 5 Perham. Park Rapids also hosted the semifinals and finals Tuesday with No. 1 Thief River Falls playing the Park Rapids vs. Perham winner and No. 2 East Grand Forks playing No. 3 Crookston in the semifinals.
The Section 8A individual tournament also began Tuesday and will conclude Wednesday at Park Rapids.
