Detroit Lakes swept the four singles matches to spark a 5-2 Mid-State Confer-ence boys tennis victory over Park Rapids Thursday at the Depot Courts.
Joe Penning and Ben Waller rallied for a three-set win at No. 1 doubles and Steve Smith and Ted Tiffany posted a straight-set win at No. 3 doubles to account for the Panthers' points.
Mark Smith lost in three sets at No. 1 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Brady Pederson and Kirt Leadbet-ter lost in three sets as the Panthers fell to 3-2 on the season.

Panthers finish seventh
Alex Renner finished fourth at No. 3 singles and Waller and Penning placed fourth at No. 1 doubles to lead the Panthers at Saturday's Moorhead Invitational.

Steve Smith took fifth at No. 4 singles and the No. 3 doubles team of Kyle Dickinson and Tiffany finished fifth as the Panthers compiled 9 points to finish seventh in this eight-team meet.
Pederson and Leadbetter finished sixth at No. 2 doubles while Mark Smith (at No. 1 singles) and Ryan Kent (at No. 2 singles) placed eighth.
Thief River Falls won the team title with 30 points.
